About Proprietor
A. Mohan, a Civil Engineering graduate from the prestigious Regional Engineering College, Trichy (1974 batch), brings decades of extensive experience in civil engineering projects. Commissioned into the Indian Army Corps of Engineers in 1975, he served with distinction as a Captain. During his time in the Army, he led the construction of numerous tactical bridges, including Bailey and Kupman, and oversaw road construction projects. He also played an active role in flood relief operations in Orissa (1977).
Upon leaving the Army in 1981, A. Mohan joined Bhagheeratha Engineering Ltd., where he managed major construction projects in India and abroad, gaining valuable expertise in international standards and large-scale infrastructure projects. Notable projects include:
1. Railway Line Construction, Iraq (1981-83) – Value: ₹100 Crores
As Divisional Engineer on the Mussayab-Samavah Railway Line project, A. Mohan supervised 10 million cubic meters of earthwork and 10,000 cubic meters of concrete in culverts and minor bridges. He successfully completed a major bridge across the River Euphrates within 120 days, while managing complex machinery like batching plants and concrete pumps. His role provided international exposure, taking him to Dubai, Kuwait, Jordan, and Abu Dhabi on business promotion.
2. Composite Dam Construction, M.P. (1983-86) – Value: ₹40 Crores
A. Mohan served as Senior Engineer on a 45-meter high composite dam project in Brisighpur, Madhya Pradesh. He led teams placing 1,000 cubic meters of concrete and masonry daily, utilizing mechanical equipment for earthwork and dam construction. His expertise in advanced construction machinery like tower cranes, dozers, and vibratory compactors was key to the project’s success.
3. Concrete/Masonry Dam & Railway Bridge, M.P. & U.P. (1987-91) – Value: ₹25 Crores
As Project Manager, A. Mohan managed the construction of a 35-meter high irrigation dam in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, and a 970-meter long railway bridge across the River Ganges in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The project involved challenging tasks like rock blasting, mass concreting, and well sinking to a depth of 27 meters. His work included forming islands, constructing cofferdams, and water diversion for large-scale projects.
4. Narmada Main Canal Irrigation Project, Gujarat (1991-93) – Value: ₹120 Crores
As Assistant General Manager, A. Mohan oversaw 23 km of the Narmada Main Canal, one of the world’s largest lined canals, with a capacity of 40,000 cusecs at the head. The project involved 10 million cubic meters of mechanized earthwork and half a million cubic meters of concrete. He was responsible for planning, execution, cost control, and large-scale operations, managing significant infrastructure such as syphons, bridges, and regulators.
